FAQ

This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?

First of all, it's important to relax and be yourself! The memories we want to record are of you being in your element and your natural self. We can actually be quite fun to hang out with and we do our best to put you at ease so the photoshoot is effortless and super enjoyable. We not only want you to walk away with amazing memories, but also to really enjoy the experience of creating them. We also send out a document before the shoot to help you prepare with clothing choices and tips like the magic of hydrating and sleeping well before a shoot to make the day go as smoothly as possible. You are in good hands!

How many pictures will I receive?

Depending on the location, style of shoot, and outfit changes, you will typically receive 50-75 images per hour of shooting.

Do you do couples photography?

Yes! We love to photograph couples (and families). Some of our favourite sessions are when we go out with a couple or group on a hike or an outdoor adventure and capture them in their element at their happiest. Whether it is climbing a mountain, going fishing in a river, or a walk through the city. We love doing something fun with our clients and capturing precious moments!

What should I wear?

We want the focus to be on you, not your clothes, so avoiding graphics and text on clothing is ideal. Wearing neutral tones will also help your clothing enhance your look and not be as distracting in the final images. Wearing timeless cuts and styles will ensure that the images will look just as compelling decades later. If you are a couple or a group, then coordinating colours and patterns will add a beautiful cohesion to the final pictures.

Are you available outside of Alberta?

We certainly are. Kristen and I split our time between Canmore, Alberta and Edinburgh, Scotland, so we are available in those areas regularly. Additionally, we have shot for clients in many countries on six continents and are comfortable shooting in a variety of environments. We are also culturally sensitive to different customs, laws, and traditions so shooting in another part of the world will be a smooth experience to avoid any unnecessary friction. Whether it's a trip across the country or a trip around the world, we can be available for almost any job. Feel free to reach out to us to discuss details for any idea you may have!

When will I receive my photos?

We operate with an utmost focus on quality and that is the one thing we will not compromise on. With that said, our process is quite efficient and you can expect delivery of your images within one to two weeks of the shoot. For weddings during peak season, you can expect your photos back within four weeks with a sneak peak delivered after one week. We can also accommodate rush orders if you are on a tighter timeline. Feel free to discuss your specific needs with us during our initial meeting.

Can we choose the location for our photo shoot?

Absolutely! We believe that the location plays a significant role in capturing unique and personalized photographs. Whether it's at your home, a scenic outdoor location, or a venue of your choice, we are open to capturing your portraits in a place that holds meaning to you. Additionally, we have many ideas for shooting locations if you are open to exploring some place new.

What happens if the weather is unfavourable on the day of an outdoor shoot?

If the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of an outdoor shoot, we can discuss alternatives such as rescheduling the session or finding an indoor location. We want to ensure the best possible outcome for your photos, and we are flexible in adapting to unforeseen circumstances. That having been said, some of our absolute favourite sessions are those that were taken in "unfavourable" conditions. The uniqueness and moodiness from Mother Nature can create absolute magic. We will shoot in any weather and any condition if you are up for it.

Can my dog join the photoshoot? (Spoiler: The answer is yes!)

Yes, yes, and YES! Pets are family, and we love including them in photoshoots. Bring your pup (or any furry friend), and we’ll make sure they’re part of the fun!
